About The Book
The book Electromagnetic Field Theory and Transmission lines is written to cater to the needs of the B.E/B.Tech ; M.Sc Courses in the Discipline of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, AMIE, ITE etc. of Indian Universities. The book covers the Syllabi of GGSIP University, New Delhi, M.D. University Rohtak and Kurukshetra University. Students can concentrate on the syllabus prescribed by each University as per their needs. The book contains five units, starting initially with Vector Analysis, Coordinate systems and Transformations followed by Divergence theorem and Stokes Theorem etc. Second unit deals with the Fundamentals of Electrostatics, Conductors, Dielectrics and Capacitors in Static Electric Fields, Polarisation, Electrostatic Boundary Value Problems, Method of Images, Dirac Delta representation of a Point Charge. Third unit deals with the Magnetostatic Fields, Faraday laws Magnetic Materials, Magnetic Torque and Momentum, Inductors and Inductances, Magnetic Energy. Fourth unit deals with Electromagnetic Waves, Maxwell's Equations Poynting Theorem, Transmission Lines, Smith Chart and its Applications, UHF lines as Circuit Elements, Inverse networks, Lattice and Bridge T Attenuator Equalizers, Ladder Attenuator, and Variable Attenuator. Fifth unit deals with Waveguides, Various modes in both Rectangular and Circular Waveguides. The language has been kept as simple as possible including the Mathematical Treatment so that students have a smooth follow up of the book. Many solved examples have been included wherever necessary at the end of the each chapter. The book can be self studied to understand the basic concepts.
